SONA Immersive Storytelling Festival 1st Edition at Carnegie Mellon University!
Pittsburgh, PA – March 27–29, 2025 – SONA Immersive Storytelling Festival takes place at Carnegie Mellon University, supported by the Department for Languages, Cultures & Applied Linguistics, The Kenner Room, and Dietrich College of Humanities and Social Sciences. Bringing together creators, technologists, and artists,
SONA showcases new work in VR, AR, 360° video, and immersive media. The festival celebrates the diversity of storytelling in immersive media, exploring how these formats amplify voices and support the creative community working in immersive storytelling.
The festival offers a curated program of film screenings, panel discussions, workshops, and networking events designed to highlight the creative and technical potential of immersive storytelling. Attendees will experience a range
of projects, engage with filmmakers and artists, and take part in conversations about the role of immersive media in shaping the future of storytelling.
